Marine Science Education
New for the 2024-2025 school year!
Science Programming for Children & Families
PBCB is excited to expand our Marine Science Education program by offering Family Science Nights where children, parents, and relatives are welcome to attend a 1 hour program hosted by our Science Coordinator, Jeanna Santana, in the Hillside Classroom. We are also offering school vacation week-long programming in February and April!
Family Science Nights:
- October 17, 2024
- January 23, 2025
- March 20, 2025
Join us for a night of scientific discovery – exploring vertebrates and invertebrates, learning tectonic plates and chemistry lessons like building volcanoes, creating “sea-slime” to test the properties of water, and more. This program is a great fit for all ages! Open to children 4+ and their guardians, and the cost is $20 per family for up to 4 people.

February Vacation Science Week:
- February 17 – 21, 2025
- Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Cost is $300 per student
- Open to ages 8-11
This program will offer a taste of our summer science camp experience as a 1-week school break experience. This all-day program includes a blend of hands-on science experiments, outdoor exploration, camp games, and art. Students may learn about local ecology while exploring the Pleasant Bay shoreline, complete engineering challenges and water quality testing, and end their days with creative projects and games. All activities will be weather-dependent, but we’ll have a blast no matter what Cape Cod winter throws at us!
