Opportunities for experienced sailors!

Race Nights

For the 2026 season, Catboats and Flying Scots again join forces to race on Friday evenings, which seemed to be a great success! During race evenings, each fleet has its own start, then everyone enjoys an evening on the water together followed by a BBQ on the bluff. Races and BBQs are available to Race and Unlimited passholders. Our races are meant to be a friendly, fun way to get people on the water. Check back in the spring for more info about getting involved for the 2026 season.

Rentals will open for the 2026 season on June 8th, with limited availability until we fully open on June 22nd. From then through mid-August, we’ll run rentals 7 days/week from 1 – 3:30 PM and 4:30 – 7 PM.

We typically have rental slots available June through August. We usually have more limited availability between Labor Day and mid-late September, based on staff availability and other programs running.

All renters must be able to rig and handle their vessel independently. Our staff are available to direct you towards equipment, transport you to a moored boat, help lift kayaks and Sunfish, and answer questions. We ask that you de-rig your boat and return your equipment by the end of the your rental period, so please plan your excursion accordingly!

Beach Fleet: Sunfish & Kayaks

Available to the public and all Pleasant Bay Pass holders. Sunfish and kayaks can be rented on a per-use basis, or by using a Pleasant Bay Pass. Stop by the boathouse any day between 1 PM – 6 PM from mid-June through early September (the waterfront closes at 7 PM) to rent a kayak or Sunfish. First come first serve, no reservation necessary!

All rentals will be cancelled if sustained winds exceed 15 MPH. Please check our website before driving over–there will be a pop up box on our homepage if rentals have been cancelled due to weather!

Core Fleet: Flying Scots & Catboats

Only Pleasant Bay Pass holders that have passed an on-water skills check with PBCB staff are able to rent boats from our core fleet. We have a variety of Pass “sizes”, so we encourage you to purchase one that fits your needs.

All rentals will be cancelled if sustained winds exceed 15 MPH. To sail in winds of 10-15 MPH, you must know how to reef (catboats). Please check our website before driving over–there will be a pop up box on our homepage if rentals have been cancelled due to weather!

Check the weather before you come: Willy Weather, Windy, NOAA, PBCB website. Please also check the email and phone number that you provided for any notices from PBCB before heading over.
